托福学习技巧
词汇
托福首先要攻克的一关是词汇。关于托福词汇课程，基础比较好的同学可以选择不上这门课，自己按照词根词缀分类法进行背诵。托福词汇本身量相对来说并不是很大。对于一些基础相对薄弱的同学，词汇课会有一些帮助，主要是教会大家从词根词缀来记忆并推测生词词义，还有一些延伸的背词方式。
阅读
托福阅读给出的时间相对比较充裕，平常练习的时间每篇大概满打满算在20分钟之内，不用刻意提升阅读速度，但是在考场的时候由于紧张或者试题难度真的有所变化，末尾一篇差一点没有做完。所以大家平时做练习，控制在每篇18分左右，这样在考场上能留出一些.
托福前景
1）英式文化VS.美式文化
IELTS考试是以国际化为出发点，涉及的文化地理等方面知识以英澳两国居多。托福是以美国英语为基础的。这是标准的美国发音。还有美国的成语和俚语，它们涉及到很多美国历史、文化、政治、地理等等。
（2）单独技能VS.综合技能
虽然都是分为听、说、读、写四科分别测试，但雅思考试的四科测试要相对独立新托福考试的难点之一是综合技能考试。一个典型的例子是，当受试者完成一次写作测试时，他读一段文字三分钟，然后听一篇听力材料两分钟，然后说一分钟，或者写一篇150-225字的作文，说明文章和听力材料之间的关系再过20分钟。
（3）雅思用途VS.托福用途
新托福的成绩只能用于留学申请使用，而雅思考试因为有A类和G类之分，A类的雅思成绩用于留学申请，G类的雅思成绩则可以用于申请移民，所以雅思考试有更广泛的应用范围。

2005年9月，美国教育考试服务中心（ETS）在世界范围内推出了一种新的综合英语考试方法，即托福网考（TOEFL IBT），它可以反映一流院校教学和校园生活中语言的实际需要。
新托福由四部分组成，分别是阅读（Reading）、听力(Listening）、口试（Speaking）、写作（Writing）。每个部分的满分为30分，整个测试的满分为120分。
托福学习的好处
在国外参加托福考试很有用。事实上，托福考试主要面向海外学生，尤其是北美国家的学生。如果你只想简单地学习外语或了解北美国家的文化知识，那么就没有必要参加考试。我不得不说考试费也是一种负担。
据了解，这几年来，国内很多联合国驻华机构和外企及合资企业在聘请员工时，或者国际基金组织测试员工英语水平时，也都开始采用TOEFL考试成绩。即使你不在国外，你的托福成绩也不错。在面试过程中，持有此证书会给你更多的就业机会。

In today’s society there is also an overarching stigma that degrades the general status of the teaching profession. Many people in society believe that those who cannot be successful in any other profession become teachers. If you love playing the piano but are not accomplished enough to become a concert pianist, then you become a piano teacher. Teaching is also seen as a mediocre career, because the average salary of a teacher is much lower than many other professions. This is not to say that there are not many intelligent and successful teachers. I know many teachers who gave up a better career because they found teaching to be much more rewarding of a career.
